It has been a while since I blogged last but I am happy to say it is because I have been spending more time behind the camera and less time in from of the computer these days. Today, however, I have found myself a little bit of time and I would like to spend it sharing with you something that I find very important, relevant and timely given the time of year.

Over a year ago now, I began working on a project to help the IWK Health Center promote and encourage diversity and inclusion through my photography.  For any of you who are not sure what I mean by diversity and inclusion,  it simply means respect for and appreciation of differences in ethnicity, gender, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, education, and religion. The IWK is committed to continually creating a welcoming an inclusive environment where diversity is respected, embraced and valued and I, of course, whole heartedly agree and was honoured to help capture this. Through a series of many different photo shoots over the past year I think we have succeeded in capturing the beautiful mosaic that is Nova Scotia, Canada and the world as a whole. I want to thank all the wonderful families who participated in this; it was such a pleasure to work with all of you!

Given the time of year I also feel it is important to point out that while many of you, including myself will spend the next week or so wishing each other a very Merry Christmas, many of your will not. You may say Happy Hanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, or one of the other many ways different cultures wish each other love and peace during this time of year. For many cultures, this time of year has religious significance and for many others it does not but I think what we all have in common is the love we all have for our families and the desire to be able to enjoy them and spend time with them, so that is my wish for all of you! From my family to yours 🙂

My Family 🙂
